We have arrived in Nashville!
This morning we departed Cincinnati at 745am. There were very few traffic hold-ups getting through the core of the city. It’s another picture perfect day – temps reaching into the 70’s.
Our break stop was at a Walmart and that pleased everyone.
One of my favourite restaurants in the US is Maggiano’s. The Nashville location hosted us for our luncheon today. We dined in an elegant, private dining room where we enjoyed a family-style FEAST which included chopped salad, Caesar salad, bruschetta, Chicken Parmesan, oven roasted Pork Loin, lemon/herb Tilapia, garlic mashed potatoes and finally Cheesecake and their famous, Apple Crostata’s for dessert.
We then traveled to East Nashville which is an up-and-coming part of the city. We were fascinated by the history of Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery. After the bourbon tasting everyone was smiling! Then we walked down historic Clinton Street to enjoy the sunshine and a few wonderful shops including Jack Daniel’s General Store and Antique Archaeology Nashville (from the “Pickers” tv series).
We had a bit of time to relax after we checking into our beautiful hotel.
In a few minutes we’ll gather for a cocktail reception before departing for tonight’s show – Diamond Rio In Concert!
