Diamond Rio really impressed us all last night. The show was entertaining and their harmonies were spot on. The performance combined many of their #1 hits that made them, “Vocal Group of the Year” 6 times. What great players they are too – they handled their instruments like pros. The show also featured many familiar Christmas songs. We all sang Silent Night with them at the end of the performance. The sound was perfect – even my brother, Darren would have been impressed.
We literally had the best seats in the house – right next to the stage. I purchased VIP seats for my group and they really appreciated them.
When we arrived at the Opryland Hotel I took those that were interested in seeing the amazing property on a walking tour. The acres of Christmas displays were stunning.
Nashville is currently a sold-out city. The hotels are at capacity. Surprisingly last night the Opryland Hotel was easy to maneuver around without crowds. Last Christmas season when I stayed at the Opryland there were nights when I could hardly move but that was probably because it was closer to Christmas when many more local folks also stop by.
What a terrific day – we got back to our hotel around 11pm.
Today is another jam packed adventure – we hit the road at 7:15am.
We all just can’t wait for Vince Gill and Amy Grants Christmas Concert this evening at the Ryman!
