History – Culture – Tradition = Dubrovnik

This morning after a bountiful breakfast buffet we were ready to explore Old Town, Dubrovnik.  Luckily it was a slow tourist day so we had this famous town of 700 residence to ourselves.  I was intrigued by a fascinating gentleman that I met at his stand at the farmers market.

Vincent, our co-host couldn’t decide what local beverage he wanted to taste so he ordered them all – his favourite was the honey liquor followed by an aged 15 year cognac.

Our delicious 3 course, fresh fish luncheon was held in a restaurant with a million dollar view,  Later we boarded a boat for a scenic 45 minute sail.  They served us their potent homemade grappa as we took in the sights,

Dinner was another highlight – we traveled down narrow roads into the countryside, where we were welcomed into a family home for traditional music, dance and cuisine.  AMAZING!
